The biggest and best of all Alola returns

Earlier this month, Pokémon Go players mourned the loss of the biggest and best wild, Alolan-form Pokémon: the Alolan Exeggutor. In late May, an Alola-themed event rolled out for the announcement of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, featuring Pokémon Sun and Moon’s regional variants of Kanto Pokémon. Alolan Exeggutor charmed fans with its sheer size. It often dwarfed Pokémon that should be larger than it and could not be fully captured in the AR view.

The event wrapped up in early June, and the Alolan forms disappeared from the wild, Alolan Exeggutor among them.

But there’s some good news — nay, some great news — for fans of the ridiculously tall Pokémon.

It’s back.

That’s right: Alolan Exeggutor has returned to Pokémon Go. While some Alolan variants such as Vulpix, Meowth, Grimer, and Sandshrew are back and only available in 7KM eggs, it looks like Alolan Exeggutor is roaming freely in the wild once more.

It was first spotted by a Reddit user, who posted this sighting of Alolan Exeggutor again out and about in the world.

While just the return of this excellent specimen is enough to get players excited, it’s also a key in finishing up one of the research quests, which involves catching dragon-type Pokémon for three rare candies. Dragon-types are generally harder to find, but with Alolan Exeggutor back on the prowl snagging them will be easier to accomplish.

There’s been no official announcement about the return of Alolan Exeggutor, but players speculate that Alolan forms with regular Kanto pre-evolutions are the ones that will be in the wild. The reason is that the other Alola variants are only found in Pokémon Eggs, but since fully-evolved Pokémon don’t hatch from Eggs, they could be out in the wild instead.

No other Alolan form has been spotted in the wild yet, but keep your eyes peeled. In the meanwhile, if you didn’t get to snatch the gloriously tall Alolan Exeggutor last time or if you just want to add another one to your collection, now’s your chance.
