Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf join Pokémon Go raids for May

The Lake Trio is Pokémon Go’s first regional raid target

The lake trio in Pokémon Go Niantic

Groudon is leaving the nest, which means now it’s time for a new Legendary Pokémon to take its place in the tier five Pokémon Go raids. Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf will be taking over the tier five raids for May.

Azelf is in the Americas and Greenland, Uxie is in the Asia-Pacific region, and Mesprit is in Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa.

Out of the three, Azelf is the only one with a particularly high attack stat, but still falls short behind Mewtwo and Alakazam. Mesprit and Uxie have pretty average stats, but will be an important addition to anyone’s Pokédex.

The Lake Trio appeared for the first time at the end of April, spawning on the map for lucky players to find. They also seemed to originally spawn around bodies of water, not differing much from their appearances in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Trainers will still be able to find the trio in the wild, even after they leave raids.

The trio will be in raids until May 27 at 4 p.m. ET.
