Pokémon Go’s March Community Day will focus on Abra

Pokémon Go’s next Community Day will star Abra, the psychic-type Pokémon from the Kanto region.

The Community Day will take place on March 15. For players in the Northern Hemisphere, it’ll take place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in your local time zone. For players in the Southern Hemisphere, it’ll take place from 3-6 p.m. in your local time zone.

Abra will be spawning in abundance, and Shiny Abra will be popping up way more often than it normally would. Evolving your Abra into an Alakazam during the Community Day period will teach it a special move, which has yet to be revealed. Some players are guessing that Dream Eater or Kinesis will make a debut in Pokémon Go, but Niantic hasn’t confirmed anything.

Note that Abra has a very high flee rate, and it will most likely book it after escaping a ball. Consider using Great or Ultra Balls if you want to capitalize on the Pokémon.

There will also be a Special Research available on the Community Day from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. in your local time zone, if you buy a pass for 99 cents. The Special Research story is called “Investigating Illusions,” and the notice says that if you complete it, you’ll get “13,000 Stardust, a Poffin, a Rocket Radar, three Incense, and other rewards.”

This is the first time monetization like this is being involved in a Community Day, but even if you’re not interested in that stuff, a sweet pink Alakazam doesn’t sound too shabby.
