After receiving the most votes from players, Weedle has emerged victorious as the Pokémon Go June Community Day focus.

On June 20 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time, Weedle will be spawning in abundance with a high chance of it being Shiny. When evolved during the event period, Beedrill will learn Drill Run. Even though Beedrill is not super useful as a PvE Pokémon, this move will make it an interesting pick in PvP.

Like other Community Day events, there’ll be other bonuses as well, including tripled Stardust from catching Pokémon and Incense lasting for three hours.

The terminology in the Community Day announcement does not talk about playing from home, the way previous announcements have due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it’s very likely that you’ll be able to participate without going outside.

The other Pokémon up for a vote were Gastly, Squirtle, and Sandshrew. Weedle was the only one of these four Pokémon who didn’t have a released Shiny version, so its win makes sense. Gastly, which took second place, will be the focus of July’s Community Day.
