Have you heard the Goodra news?

Pokémon Go’s new Luminous Legends event welcomes a few new Dragon types to the mobile game, including Goomy, Sliggoo, and Goodra. Evolving Sliggoo into Goodra introduces a new type of requirement in Pokémon Go, but it’s not difficult. (Acquiring the required Goomy candy on the other hand ... )

Evolving Goomy into Sliggoo (its mid-evolution form) requires 25 Goomy Candy. No problemo. But evolving Sliggoo into Goodra (the final form) requires an additional 100 Goomy Candy and either:

  • Using the Rainy Lure Module item, or
  • Evolving Sliggoo while Pokémon Go’s in-game weather is rainy

Pokémon Go players can find Goomy appearing in the wild, but the Soft Tissue Pokémon (ew) is an uncommon spawn. If you do manage to spot a Goomy in the wild, it’s advisable to use a Pinap Berry for extra Goomy Candy or a Razz Berry to increase your chances of catching it. (Or use a Silver Pinap for the best of both worlds!)

Unfortunately, Goomy is not appearing in Field Research tasks or as a reward for completing the Luminous Legends X Timed Research. But players will earn a Rainy Lure Module by completing the final (seventh) step of Pokemon Go’s Luminous Legends X Timed Research. Additional Rainy Lure Modules can be purchased from the in-game shop for 200 Pokécoins.
