Just like in other Pokémon games, Bonsly has special requirements to evolve into Sudowoodo in Pokémon Go.

To evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo, you’ll need to walk 15 kilometers with it set as your buddy. You’ll need to set the specific Bonsly you want to evolve as your buddy, and then use 50 Sudowoodo Candy to evolve it once you walk the distance. After evolving it, you can change out your buddy to whatever other Pokémon you want.

Bonsly and Sudowoodo are both available to find Shiny, though Bonsly only hatches from eggs and they can’t be caught in the wild. The Silph Road has a convenient list of what’s currently in eggs. Sudowoodo can be found in the wild normally.

You likely won’t need to evolve your Bonsly to complete your Pokédex, since Sudowoodo can be found fairly commonly in the wild, but it may be worth doing it if you manage to hatch a Shiny or if you find one with good IVs.
