To evolve your Kubfu in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor expansion, you’ll have to climb one of the two towers: the Tower of Darkness or the Tower of Waters.

Depending on which you climb, your Kubfu will evolve into an Ushifu that is either water- or dark-type, in addition to its fighting-type.

The game recommends that your Kubfu is at least level 70 before starting the climb, as you’ll have to defeat five trainers in a row without leaving. You can heal using items between the fights, though.

Tower of Waters

Just as the name says, most of the trainers in here will be sporting water-type Pokémon. While they should be no match for your Kubfu’s strongest moves, like Dynamic Punch, you can teach it Thunder Punch via TM for an extra edge.

You’ll go against the following Pokémon:

  • First floor: Psyduck, level 65
  • Second floor: Krabby, level 66
  • Third floor: Marill, level 67
  • Fourth floor: Poliwhirl, level 68
  • Fifth floor: Kubfu, level 70

The final battle will be against Dojo Master Mustard’s own Kubfu. You can beat it quickly using Aerial Ace, a move Kubfu learns naturally from leveling, but be aware that his Kubfu knows the same move.

Tower of Darkness

The Tower of Darkness is the easier one to go through, as Kubfu’s fighting-type will give it an inherent type advantage to any dark-type Pokémon. Just use its known fighting-type moves to sweep the tower easily.

You’ll go against the following:

  • First floor: Zorua, level 65
  • Second floor: Scraggy, level 66
  • Third floor: Inkay, level 67
  • Fourth floor: Krokorok, level 68
  • Fifth floor: Kubfu, level 70

As stated above for the Tower of Waters, you’ll fight against Dojo Master Mustard’s Kubfu, which should be an easy victory with Aerial Ace.
