You can get a free Mewtwo for Pokémon: Let’s Go by visiting Best Buy

Mewtwo is in the games already, but this one you don’t work too hard for

Mewtwo in Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Evee! Game Freak/The Pokémon Company

You can get a Mewtwo in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eeveee! It’s one of the more challenging Pokémon to catch — but for good reason. Mewtwo is powerful. Of course, you can also just go to Best Buy and catch one for free.

The Pokémon Company announced today that there’s a second way to catch Mewtwo in the Let’s Go games, one that doesn’t involve a cerulean cave. Ahead of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield’s Nov. 15 release date, it’s giving away Mewtwo to folks that head over to Best Buy with the Pokémon Pass app on iPhone or Android.

Launch the Pokémon Pass app at Best Buy and you’ll get a code to obtain Mewtwo. The code is available from Nov. 4 to 14 — a day ahead of the Sword and Shield launch.

Here’s exactly what you’ll need to do once you’ve got the code, straight from The Pokémon Company:

  1. Launch your Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game.
  2. Select Communicate on the main menu.
  3. Select Mystery Gifts.
  4. Select Get with code/password, then select Yes to save your game and connect to the internet.
  5. Enter your code.
  6. Watch as the gift arrives in your game. (Pokémon will appear in your party or your Pokémon Box. Items will appear in your Bag.)

The Mewtwo you’ll receive is just a regular ‘ol Mewtwo, not Shiny or anything. It’s level 70, with Amnesia, Psychic, Teleport, and Recover as its moves.

Elsewhere, the Pokémon Pass app can get you a Shiny Lunala or Solgaleo in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon when you visit GameStop. This offer’s been going on since Aug. 28 and will continue until Oct. 21. “Shiny Lunala will be Lv. 60 and know the moves Moongeist Beam, Psyshock, Moonblast, and Moonlight,” The Pokémon Company said. “Shiny Solgaleo will also be Lv. 60 and know the moves Sunsteel Strike, Zen Headbutt, Noble Roar, and Morning Sun.”

The steps to receive the Pokémon at GameStop are the same as with Mewtwo once you’ve visited the location to grab the code.
