Last week, Niantic announced that it was granting a series of “ultra” rewards for completion of a variety of challenges throughout the summer in Pokémon Go. Those rewards were only hinted at, but today Niantic clarified the rewards. And wow, they are doozies.
The ultra rewards will be spread out over the course of several weeks.
Week 1: Starting on Sept. 2, Unown will have the chance to hatch from 10KM eggs, spelling out the letters U, L, T, R, and A. That same day, the legendary dogs, Raikou, Suicune, and Entei, will return as raid bosses. There will also be a chance to catch a Shiny Sentret and a Shiny Gligar.
Week 2: Starting on Sept. 9, regional Pokémon from Kanto (Generation 1), like Mr. Mime, Tauros, and Farfetch’d, have a chance to hatch from 7KM eggs, with a chance of being Shiny. Also, all Deoxys forms will appear in raids and incubators will hatch eggs twice as fast.
Week 3: Starting on Sept. 16, Mewtwo will appear in raids, with a chance of being Shiny. It’ll also come packing a brand new attack: Psystrike. In addition, trainers have a chance to catch Shiny Lillipup and Shiny Patrat, along with other Unova region Pokémon. These will be the first Pokémon added to Pokémon Go from the Generation 5 Pokédex.
In addition, Niantic dropped a new quest tonight, allowing trainers to capture Jirachi, the Mythical Pokémon from the Hoenn region.
