Pokémon Go Fest 2022 Finale event and Special Research guide

The final part of this summer-long event rewards Sky Forme Shaymin

Pokémon Go is having its summer Go Fest 2022 finale event on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. in your local time. The event has a four-step Special Research Task set, as well as bonuses for both players who buy a ticket and those who don’t.

Pokémon Go Fest Finale ticket bonuses and perks

If you already bought the ticket for the first part of Pokémon Go Fest 2022, you do not need to buy another ticket. You will need to have a ticket (which costs $10.99) to experience the following:

  • Shiny Unown N and Unown X will be available for the first time
  • Up to five event snapshots
  • Up to 9 free daily Raid Passes from spinning gyms
  • An extra 5,000 XP in raid rewards when you complete an in-person raid
  • Tripled XP from spinning PokéStops and gyms
  • Halved egg hatch distance when eggs are put into Incubators during the event period
  • Change Sky Forme Shaymin into Land Forme Shaymin
  • Three ticket-exclusive Special Research stories

If you do not buy the ticket, you’ll still have access to increased spawns and one shorter Special Research set.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022 Finale Special Research tasks

The first stage of Pokémon Go Fest 2022’s Finale Special Research is available to all players. The subsequent stages, which offer encounters with Ultra Beasts Pheromosa, Buzzwole, Xurkitree, and Nihilego, are available to paid ticket holders and will roll out over time.

Stage 1 — Intro: “Willow’s Return”

Available to all Pokémon Go players starting at 10 a.m. local time

  • Send 3 Gifts to friends (3 Nanab Berries)
  • Complete 2 Field Research tasks (100 Stardust)
  • Spin 3 PokéStops or Gyms (100 XP)

Reward: 3 Razz Berrys, 25 Poké Balls, Foongus encounter

  • Use 3 Berries to help Catch Pokémon (25 Foongus Candy)
  • Power up Pokémon 3 times (1 Charged TM)
  • Use a Charged TM (3 Potions)

Reward: 3 Revives, 1 Golden Razz Berry, Munna encounter

Stage 2 — “A Radiant Reunion”

Available to Go Fest 2022 ticket holders who have completed the Intro stage starting at 12 p.m. local time

  • Evolve 3 Pokémon (1,000 XP)
  • Earn 5,000 XP (1 Incense)
  • Use an Incense (Combee encounter)

Rewards: 3 Silver Pinap Berrys, 25 Great Balls, Avatar Item (URS No Visor)

  • Make 5 Nice throws (25 Combee Candy)
  • Catch 10 Pokémon (Pheromosa encounter)
  • Make a curveball throw (25 Ultra Balls)

Rewards: 1 Star Piece, 1 Sinnoh Stone, Buzzwole encounter

Stage 3

Available to Go Fest 2022 ticket holders who have completed Stage 2 starting at 2 p.m. local time

  • Battle 3 Team Go Rocket members (3 Hyper Potions)
  • Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket members (3 Max Revives)
  • Purify 2 Shadow Pokémon (1 Incense)

Rewards: 1 Super Incubator, 25 Pokéballs, Swirlix encounter

  • Earn 2,000 Stardust (25 Swirlix Candy)
  • Hatch an Egg (3 Max Potions)
  • Walk 1 km (1 Lucky Egg)

Rewards: 1 Incubator, 3 Rare Candy, Xurkitree encounter

Stage 4

Available to Go Fest 2022 ticket holders who have completed Stage 3 starting at 4 p.m. local time

  • Catch 10 Pokémon (1,000 XP)
  • Earn a heart with your buddy (25 Ultra Balls)
  • Take a snapshot (Munna encounter)

Rewards: 1 Lure, 1 Mossy Lure, Shaymin Sky Forme encounter

  • Auto complete (25 Shaymin Candy)
  • Auto complete (25 Munna Candy)
  • Auto complete (Nihilego encounter)

Rewards: 3 Rare Candy, 1 Premium Raid Pass, Avatar Item (Shaymin Sky Forme shirt)
