Weird things happen when the Death Stranding trailers play side-by-side

But what does it all, like, mean?

Kojima Productions / Norman Reedus screencap 1920 Kojima Productions

Watched side-by-side, something strange — and likely deliberate — occurs between the first Death Stranding trailer and the second, which premiered Thursday at The Game Awards.

As spied by Twitter-ers megaloltaku and memeings on Twitter, the funky fetus that Norman Reedus is cradling disappears and, ta-daaaa, teleports into that test-tube deal that Guillermo Del Toro is holding in the second trailer.

If the Twitter embed doesn't provide enough context, here is the whole thing through YouTube doubler.

What does it all mean? It means we're getting worked up over visuals for a story-driven game whose story is anything but coherent at this point.

More on Death Stranding is expected from the PlayStation Experience today. We're covering it, and will be carrying the live stream as well.
