Sony revealed January 2019’s set of games for PlayStation Plus subscribers, including Ubisoft’s open-world winter sports game Steep.
Steep is an appropriate game for the wintry months that kick off the year; players can ride snowboards and skis, and even fly paragliders. One of the recent updates included Winter Olympic content.
For something a little warmer, Portal Knights is also available for PS4 owners with PlayStation Plus memberships. It’s another sandbox-style action game that launched in 2017 on consoles, after an early access release in 2016.
The PlayStation 3 games are particularly impressive. They are Zone of the Enders HD Collection, compiling the mech-action games produced by Metal Gear’s Hideo Kojima, and Harmonix’s rhythm game Amplitude. Subscribers can also get Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault on PlayStation Vita.
The company previously announced that it will phase out PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games from the program after February 2019. January’s options are a nice capper, at least on the PS3 front.
December’s PS Plus offerings, including the excellent Soma, are still available to subscribers; read more about them and the rest of the 2018 slate in our rundown of the year in PlayStation Plus games.
