After you complete the story on Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart’s Sargasso Outpost L51, you’ll move on to Scarstu Debris Field. Shortly after that, you’ll get the optional objective to “Help Trudi” back on Sargasso. You’ll need to help the Morts with their pet, Trudi by collecting plants called Zurpstones. It gets a little confusing, though, with Zurpstones you can’t reach and unclear directions.
In this Rift Apart Zurpstones guide for PC and PS5, we’ll help you complete the “Help Trudi” optional objective with an explanation of your task(s) and tips on collecting those Zurpstones.
Talk to Mort about Trudi
Once you talk to Mort, he’ll point you toward the first set of Zurpstones to collect. Head off through the rift to the west. You’ll collect a few Zurpstones as you pass, and then ride a Sneedle to collect a few more. You should end up with 21 on this short loop.
Bring Zurpstones back to Mort
With your first 15 (at least) Zurpstones in hand, you’ll get a new objective. Return to Mort, and you’ll feed Trudi the Zurpstones you’ve collected. This earns you the Feeding Friendsy trophy.
At this point, Mort will mark the remaining Zurpstones on your map and offer you some rewards.
Collect Zurpstones to exchange for Ranger Boots
With the rest of your Zurpstones on your map, things start to get confusing. For the next phase of this objective, just ride a Speedle to collect more Zurpstones. Just skip over any that are above ground level or hard to reach. Your goal is only to collect 30 Zurpstones.
The best place to collect them is the island just east of the factory (there are also a few in Rivet’s Hideout). Once you have 30, return to the factory and Mort’ll reward you with the Galactic Ranger Boots.
More importantly, you’ll be able to ride Trudi from now on.
Collect Zurpstones to exchange for a Spybot
Now your task is to collect the rest of the 60 Zurpstones. This is the confusing part: You cannot collect Zurpstones while riding Trudi. Riding Trudi just a way to travel between Trudi Perches. These are marked on your map with little Trudi icons.

Use Trudi to travel to perches around the south of the map. Once again, ignore any that are up high. You have no way to know this, but your secret goal is to collect 45 Zurpstones. At that point, Trudi will be strong enough to breathe fire.
Once Trudi can breathe fire, you’ll be able to shoot fireballs at Zurpstones to collect them. That’s how you’ll get all of the ones on rooftops — and it’ll make fighting and collecting the rest easier too.
Collect all 60 Zurpstones, and Mort will reward you with the Sargasso Spybot.
