Resident Evil 2 guide: Hip Pouch locations

Inventory space is a constant struggle in Resident Evil 2. Throughout the world, though, you’ll find Hip Pouches that increase your inventory by two slots each. There are six Hip Pouches to find and expand your inventory space from eight slots to 20.

In this guide, we’ll show you the locations of all Hip Pouches.

Police Station Hip Pouch locations

There are three Hip Pouches to find in the Police Station — at least until you come back from the Parking Garage.

West Storage Room

You’ll find your first Hip Pouch in the West Storage Room (3F) near the cell where you’ll pick up the Maiden Medallion.

West Office

The next Hip Pouch is in the safe in the West Office (1F) office-within-an-office. You’ll need to get the combination from the Internal Memo in the STARS Office (2F). Or you can read the next sentence. The combination is Left 9, Right 15, Left 7Left 9, Right 15, Left 7.

Machinery Room

After your first boss fight against G (Phase 1), you’ll explore the area around the Machinery Room. You’ll find the next Hip Pouch not too far from the Machinery Room, right before you climb the ladder to the Parking Garage. It’s in the locker right next to the Typewriter.

Parking Garage Hip Pouch locations

There’s only one more Hip Pouch to find during your adventure to escape the Parking Garage. It’s actually in a room you’ve probably visited a couple times, but you’ll finally be able to collect it now.

Safety Deposit Room

The next Hip Pouch you’ll find is in locker 203 in the Safety Deposit Room. You’ll need to find both of the Spare Keys to get into the locker, though. One is in the Locker Room (3F) and the other is in the Linen Room (2F).

Sewers Hip Pouch locations

Theres only one Hip Pouch in the Sewers, and you’ll need the T-Bar Handle to get it.

Workroom

Using the T-Bar Handle in the Upper Waterway will let you get into the Workroom Lift and up to the Workroom. There’s a Hip Pouch right on the table when you arrive.

NEST Laboratory Hip Pouch locations

The final Hip Pouch is in one of the early rooms of the NEST Laboratory, but like several of the pouches above, you’ll have to revisit the room to pick it up.

Nap Room

The final Hip Pouch is in the rightmost nap pod in the Nap Room that you find shortly after you enter the NEST Laboratory, but you won’t be able to get to it on your first visit. You’ll need to come back to the Nap Room with the Signal Modulator that you find in the stairwell near the Lounge downstairs. Use that on the power panel to open the pods, and you’ll be able to pick up the Pouch.
