Collect treasures around Old Town

Jeffrey Parkin (he/him) has been writing video game guides for Polygon for almost seven years. He has learned to love just about every genre of game that exists.

Before we continue with Resident Evil Village’s “Collect Rose: 2/4” objective, we’ll take you through the Graveyard, Maiden of War, Luthier’s House, and Luiza’s House areas where you’ll find RE8’s strange bird, Maestro’s Collection, Steel Hræsvelgr, F2 Rifle – High-Capacity Mag., Luiza’s Heirloom and Luiza’s necklace, Beneviento’s Treasure, Giant Crystal Axe, and broken slab key item.

In this Resident Evil 8 walkthrough, we’ll help you collect every item — like ammo, lei, rusted scrap, herbs, crystal fragments, and more — and find every key item with our maps and screenshots.

Table of contents

Graveyard

Before you check in with Duke, continue past and into the Graveyard. Check the previously locked crypt on your left. A vampire will pop out of it and leave the door open for you. Take care of the vampires, and then collect the broken slab from inside.

Back outside, look northwest and up to spot the strange bird from the photo. Shoot it, and collect the juicy game.

Maiden of War

While we’re here and we’ve got a lockpick, head south the Maiden of War and then into the house due west. Use the lockpick on the drawer to collect some shotgun ammo.

Luthier’s House, Maestro’s Collection

Cut through the shortcuts you’ve opened to return to the Luthier’s House southeast of the Maiden of War. Use the Luthier’s Key to open the door.

Inside, check the cabinet for some lei, and then look at the kid’s drawing on the wall for a date — 27-09-17.

Continue through to the back room. Check the drawer on your right for some chem fluid, and smash the crate for some more lei.

Look at the lute hanging from the ceiling in the northernmost corner. Shoot the gem to collect a Yellow Quartz.

Enter the date into the combination lock on the armoire — 270917. Inside, grab the Steel Hræsvelgr and open the box for the F2 Rifle – High-Capacity Mag.

Luiza’s Heirloom

Cut through the Church and head back to Luiza’s House. Right at the front door, there’s a box. Open it for Luiza’s Necklace.

Check the picnic table to the left for some handgun ammo and explosive rounds.

Visit Duke

Visit Duke at the Altar. Sell off everything (except the Necklace with Two Holes which still isn’t complete) for a hefty sum of money. It’s safe to sell the M1897 shotgun now, too. Spend some money on upgrading your weapons and buy as many pipe bombs and mines, and as much ammo as you can.

Beneviento’s Treasure

Take the broken slab all the way back through the Altar, Potter’s Field, and Garden to the lone grave — the treasure is already marked on your map.

Duck into the Gardener’s House on the north side of the path to save.

When you hit the downed tree, cut through the yard on your left (south). Shoot the ram in the yard for some meat.

Just before you get to the grave, you’ll get jumped by a giant wielding a huge axe.

Use a combination of mines, pipe bombs, and every weapon you have to take him down. He’s got a limited range he’ll travel from the grave, so kite him back up the stairs as much as you can.

It’s going to take a lot of bullets to put him down, so just keep at it.

Pick up the Giant Crystal Axe once he’s defeated, and sweep the area around the grave for any other loot.

Approach the grave and place the broken slab onto the stone. Pick up Berengario’s Chalice.

Visit Duke (again)

Take your treasures back to Duke and cash them in.

With the juicy game and meat from the goat, you should have a couple options for cooking. The Bird and Beast Pilaf (4 poultry, 1 meat) will reduce the damage you take while guarding, and the Tochitura de Pui (4 poultry, 3 meat, 1 juicy game) will give you another health boost.

Now we’re ready to tackle the next treasure and House.
