Batman: Arkham Knight will be re-released on PC on Oct. 28, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today. The game returns to the online store four months after a disastrous bug-filled launch led to its abrupt removal.

When it returns, Arkham Knight will be patched to include all free content that has been release for the game's console editions (excepting any console-exclusive content). That includes the game's photo and big-head modes, the Arkham Asylum character skin for Batman, and character selection in the combat AR challenges.

PC users who bought the game's season pass of downloadable content will get all DLC that has been released to date. Details are on the Batman: Arkham Knight Steam page.

Batman: Arkham Knight's Windows PC version should be patched and available for purchase again "at the end of October," a representative from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment wrote this week on the game's Steam community page.

The studio expects final fixes to the game, which is no longer available for purchase due to serious performance problems identified after launch, to be complete by the end of the month. At that point, Arkham Knight will again be offered up for purchase and that "support for all [downloadable content] that has been released for the console versions will be in place."

Following serious performance issues, Arkham Knight was removed from the Steam marketplace shortly after its release in June. These included a...

The PC release of Batman: Arkham Knight was plagued with issues, causing publisher Warner Bros. to stop selling the PC version of the popular title. An "interim" patch was recently released for testing, and it's about to be released for everyone who has already purchased the game on PC.

Here's what you can expect from the patch:

Reduced frame rate hitches

Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage

Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)

More Comprehensive In-Game Settings

Fixed low resolution texture bugs

Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)

Nvidia's Tom Peterson says his best and brightest colleagues are working with Warner Bros. to fix the PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight. The final game in Rocksteady's trilogy, Arkham Knight was released on PC in bad shape and eventually pulled off of Steam. But making an appearance on MMORPG.com yesterday, Peterson says he has top men working on the solution.

"We're fixing a ton of things that are not necessarily related to us," Peterson said. "Some of it may be related to our driver, some not. But at the end of the day the game is the focus and we're going to make it great."

Peterson is a distinguished engineer at Nvidia (that's his actual title) and part of the Gameworks group. Gameworks is a service that Nvidia offers, and an upper...

Following a report that Batman: Arkham Knight's deeply flawed PC port won't be fixed until September or later, Warner Bros.
"Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady and our partners are targeting an interim patch update for existing players to be released in August," the statement says. "This update will address many of the issues we listed in our June 27 update."
