Sea of Thieves island shapes and locations

Something something the shape of water

Jeffrey Parkin (he/him) has been writing video game guides for Polygon for almost seven years. He has learned to love just about every genre of game that exists.

Sea of ThievesGold Horders voyages require a kind of detective work. With an unlabeled treasure map, you have to match the shape of the island to an island you find on you ship’s map table. This usually involves a lot of humorous shape descriptions (“It looks like a guy with spiked hair looking left and screaming”), arguments and a lot of switching back and forth between the map table and the treasure map.

To save you some time (and some arguing), we’ve assembled all Sea of Thieves islands into the galleries below. We’ve divided them according to the game’s areas — The Shores of Plenty in the northwest, The Wilds in the northeast and The Ancient Isles in the south. The quests that you get from the various factions will rarely take you out of the area you pick it up in, so start your search there.
