Sekiro isn’t a role-playing game, but it has RPG mechanics. In this guide, we’ll show you how to use Prayer Beads to create a Prayer Necklace and level up your Vitality (and Posture).
If you played a Dark Souls game or Bloodborne, you’ll know that that developer FromSoftware usually gives you stats like Strength and Endurance to manipulate. Sekiro is different. The Wolf only has two stats: Vitality (which includes Posture) and Attack Power. You’ll need four Prayer Beads to increase the former (and a Memory to upgrade the latter).
How to find Prayer Beads and level up Vitality and Posture
After you beat certain enemies in Sekiro (typically mini-bosses), you’ll receive a Prayer Bead. You can also find them in the world. They’re often in treasure chests hidden in out-of-the-way areas that you have to explore to find. (You can see one of those in the image at the top of this guide.)
Collect four Prayer Beads, and when you visit a Sculptor’s Idol, you can use the Enhance Physical Attributes menu item to combine them into a Prayer Necklace. Do that, and you’ll receive a 1-point boost to your Vitality (and Posture).
You can see your new stats at the bottom of the Equipment tab in Sekiro’s main menu.
