Sekiro guide: Sakura Droplet

What to do with the Sakura Droplet?

Sekiro Sakura Droplet FromSoftware/Activision via Polygon

You’ll get Sekiro’s Sakura Droplet Key Item after defeating Lady Butterfly at the end of Hirata Estate, but it’ll probably be a while before you can do anything with it. Rather than wondering what it’s for, in this guide we’ll explain what it is and where to use it.

What is the Sakura Droplet?

The Sakura Droplet gives you another Resurrective Power node (one of those little pink circles at the bottom left of your screen), allowing you to come back to life three times.

Where do I use the Sakura Droplet?

After you defeat Genichiro Ashina, give the Sakura Droplet to Kuro the Divine Heir at the top of Ashina Castle, and you’ll receive an addition Resurrective Power node.

Though we haven’t been able to test this for ourselves, we’ve also read reports that you can give it to the Divine Child of Rejuvenation near the Inner Sanctum – Senpou Temple, Mt. Kongo Sculptor’s Idol, and you’ll also receive your third node.

What about NG+?

For those of you in Sekiro New Game+, you won’t receive a Sakura Droplet after defeating Lady Butterfly again, which means that you’re maxed out at three Resurrection nodes. You’ll still enter NG+ with all three, though, so at least there’s that.
