Spider-Man: Miles Morals guide: How to get a 100X combo

Beat up a bunch of guys without getting hit ... or just turn down the difficulty

In Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you can up your Combo meter by beating on enemies without getting hit. At certain thresholds, you’ll gain Takedown charges that let you instantly knockout an enemy. But you’ll also gain a special Trophy if you manage to get a 100X Combo — aptly named “100X Combo!”

This is harder than it sounds and can be somewhat frustrating. First, you have to find an area with enough dudes to get 100 hits. Then you have to actually execute your plan.

Playing on the normal difficulty (Amazing) we got this trophy in the Roxxon Lab West location. Instead of doing stealth, we just broke into the combat area and started beating on people, which caused them to call reinforcements. This worked pretty well, and we just restarted at the last checkpoint whenever we got hit and messed up. After some struggling, we got it done.

Here are some tips:

  • Focus on dodging
  • Use your Venom Smash skill to get a bunch of hits in and stay safe
  • Use Takedowns to go invulnerable or instantly remove shielded enemies from the fight
  • When you can, just use standard punches instead of more damaging moves to keep your enemies awake longer
  • Use Camouflage to reposition or disarm enemies — just don’t stay out of combat too long

In hindsight, there is an easier way to do this. If you go into the Game setting, you can temporarily lower the difficulty, which reduces the enemy’s aggression — making it less likely they break your streak. But this also reduces the enemy’s health pool, so they’ll take fewer hits. It’s a tradeoff, but ultimately easier on a lower difficulty.

This trophy is absolutely doable on the Amazing difficulty, but you can lower it in the settings if you’re having trouble.
