Spider-Man PS4 Drone Challenges guide

Get tree stars, gold-tier in the Chinatown Greenwich Upper East Side Drone Challenges

Drone Challenges in Spider-Man PS4 require an amount of traversal precision that the rest of the game just doesn’t. So if you’re like us, they’ll be among the hardest (and most annoying) parts of the game to master. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get gold (or three stars, as we like to think of it) on each of them.

To be successful, you need to do four things:

  1. Find take the most efficient path to the blue bubbles that the drones leave.
  2. Stay within 50-60 meters of the drone whenever possible.
  3. Press L2 and R2 at the same time to grapple and then press X as soon as you land to perform a Point Launch.
  4. Hit X while you’re not swinging to keep your altitude and speed up.

In the video above, we explain this using the Financial District Drone Challenge, which is the most difficult by a country mile. The basic skills you need to learn for every challenge are all on display there. We follow that step-by-step breakdown with three-star, gold-tier runs of the Chinatown Drone Challenge, Greenwich Drone Challenge and the Upper East Side Drone Challenge.

None of these are easy. (That’s why they’re called challenges!) And that means you’ll probably need to run them multiple times, getting the paths and the timing right. There’s (thankfully) room for some error. As you’ll see in some of our videos, you can misfire here and there and still succeed. None of the paths that we take are necessarily the only paths that you can take, but they do work.

Getting the highest challenge tier won’t ever be easy. But at the very least, we believe that our examples will help you overcome Spider-Man PS4’s Drone Challenges quicker and with less frustration.
