Final Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer promises an epic battle

Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren are all back in one final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. And it’s big. Really big.

Just when we thought things couldn’t get more twisty and turny (The ruins of the Death Star? Palpatine’s laugh? Rey with a red lightsaber? DARK C-3PO?!), this new trailer, which premiered during Monday Night Football, proves us wrong. We finally get a glimpse of some of the new characters in action, some very sweet Leia moments, and the climactic moments of the Resistance’s face-off against the First Order. Are you tearing up yet? Wait until the sounds of Luka and Leia whispering to Rey through the ether of the Force.

Earlier this month, screenwriter Chris Terrio promised that Rise of the Skywalker will answer the ever-pressing question of “Who is Rey?” — both in literal and figurative ways. In addition to new faces in the form of Naomi Ackie’s Jannah and Keri Russell’s Zori, old favorite like Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian are set to join the resistance. Also, Babu Frik, the best alien in the entire galaxy, will make his screen debut.

The final installment of the Skywalker saga flies into theaters on Dec. 20. The trailer marked the official release of pre-release ticket sales on Fandango. Below, find the final one-sheet for the film.
