If you thought a global pandemic could save us all from another Star Wars Holiday Special, think again.

A new Star Wars Holiday Special is coming exclusively to Disney Plus on Nov. 17, Lucasfilm and Disney announced Thursday. But unlike the previous Life Day celebration, this one will take place in the world of Lego. Enter the Lego Star Wars Holiday Special, and perhaps some answers to a few questions from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special picks up immediately after the end of The Rise of Skywalker. Rey and BB-8 have already left their friends to “gain a deeper knowledge of the Force,” Lucasfilm and Disney said in a news release. The two will stumble on a Jedi Temple, and go on a kind of time-spanning adventure through Star Wars’ past. Rey will apparently encounter many iconic Star Wars heroes and villains, including Darth Vader, Luke, and Yoda. Rey will eventually attempt to make her way back to Kashyyyk so she can spend Life Day with her friends.

The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special will have some special Lego tie-ins as well, with the Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar featuring holiday versions of characters from the special. There will also be a Lego Star Wars Holiday sticker book for fans who want to further decorate their holiday-themed heroes.

The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special and Life Day are a callback to the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978. This truly terrible made-for-TV production showcases Chewbacca, his family, and the original cast of Star Wars singing songs and celebrating “Life Day,” the Wookiee equivalent to Christmas.

This new CG-animated holiday special comes courtesy of Atomic Cartoons, the Lego Group, and Lucasfilm. It’s directed by Ken Cunningham. It’s currently unclear if the special will feature any voice talent from the Star Wars films.
