The Last of Us Part 2 guide: Seattle Day 1 collectibles (Abby)

In Polygon’s The Last of Us Part 2 Seattle Day 1 (Abby) collectibles guide, we’ll show you the locations of the 18 Artifacts, 16 Coins, 5 Workbenches, and 3 Safes in this chapter.

Seattle Day 1 (Abby) has nine sections (or subchapters): The Stadium, On Foot, The Forward Base, The Aquarium, Hostile Territory, Winter Visit, The Forest, The Coast, and Return to the Coast, but you won’t see those names during the campaign. You can find and begin playing from these sections in the Chapters section of the main menu. Each subchapter gets a section in our guide, and we’ll explain where and when they begin and end below.

The Stadium collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2 Seattle Day 1 – The Stadium begins when Manny wakes Abby up. It ends when Manny, Mel, and Abby exit the truck and head out on foot. There are 4 Coins to find in The Stadium.

Alaska Quarter Coin location

The Stadium Coin 1 of 4

Exit Abby’s room into the bleacher area of the stadium. Before heading down the stairs, turn left and grab the Alaska Quarter from near the woodpile.

Maine Quarter Coin location

The Stadium Coin 2 of 4

Follow Manny and Mel down toward the field. But, before descending the last flight of stairs, look out for the wooden planks and troughs that make up the laundry station on your right. The Maine Quarter is resting on the bench nearest the stairs.

New Jersey Quarter Coin location

The Stadium Coin 3 of 4

As you exit the field area, you’ll pass by a guard — who will greet you with a “Hey Abby” — and a mural of a Wolf. Behind the guard and under the Wolf mural, find the New Jersey Quarter.

Vermont Quarter Coin location

The Stadium Coin 4 of 4

Run past the rifle range, into the garage area. Turn left and move toward the wall labeled Dock 5. The Vermont Quarter is inside the metal cabinet.

On Foot collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2’s On Foot begins after the Scar ambush. It ends when the crew arrive at the WLF base. There are 1 Artifact, 4 Coins, 1 Workbench, and 1 Safe to find in On Foot.

Kentucky Coin location

On Foot Coin 1 of 4

After the Scar ambush, enter the warehouse and take an immediate right. Walk to the folding table and score the Kentucky Quarter.

Massachusetts Coin location

On Foot Coin 2 of 4

After pushing into the Garden Center, walk down to the far left corner. Grab the Massachusetts quarter at the checkout below the Garden Center sign. It’s located near the sign for aisle 16.

Workbench 1 location

On Foot Workbench 1 of 1

After rappelling into the building and moving the fallen shelving to let Mel in, advance to the next room. Run straight until you see a white refrigerator to your left. Next to it, there’s a Workbench.

Ohio Coin location

On Foot Coin 3 of 4

In the warehouse housing the boat, boost Mel up when prompted and she’ll unlock the second story door giving you access to the ladder. Stay on the platform where you found it, and place the ladder along the wall to gain access to the smaller third floor. Here you’ll find a gray card table. The Ohio Coin is on the left corner, on the side closest to you.

Indiana Coin location

On Foot Coin 4 of 4

After climbing down from the roof with Mel, approach the trailer in the middle of the lot. Throw a brick through its window, and then climb through. In the next room over, investigate the computer desk to find the Indiana Coin.

WLF Gun Cache Note Artifact location

On Foot Artifact 1 of 1

Opposite the desk where you found the Indiana Coin on the filing cabinet in front of the coffee pot, pick up the WLF Gun Cache Note Artifact, which references a safe and includes a hint that “the big win” is the combination.

Safe 1 location

On Foot Safe 1 of 1

To open the safe referenced in the Paul to Marta letter Artifact, you’ll need to ignore the most obvious clue in the trailer. While, on the framed fishing picture, there’s a prominently displayed date that fits the combination 08-15-12, it doesn’t unlock the safe. Instead, look at the numbers, circled in red, on the lottery ticket displayed next to the computer desk. You’ll probably need to physically get off the couch and walk over to your TV to read the winning numbers.

We’ll save you the trouble: The combination is 17-38-07.

Exit the trailer, and cross over to the MS Corporation Soft Drink Distribution Center. The door’s locked, so walk over to the side of the building that faces the train tracks and slip inside through the crevice in the wall. The safe is located on your left as you shimmy in. Punch in the combo and a few packs of ammo are yours.

The Forward Base collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2’s The Forward Base begins when you arrive at the parking lot outside the base. It ends when Abby’s flashback begins. There are 1 Artifact, 3 Coins, and 1 Workbench to find in The Forward Base.

California Coin location

The Forward Base Coin 1 of 3

Once you arrive at The Forward Base, walk around behind the group of Wolves on the right side of the parking lot to pick up the California Quarter.

Workbench location

From the California Quarter location, turn away from the parking lot and enter through the gate then take an immediate left into the crowded tent to find the second Workbench.

New Mexico Coin location

From the Workbench, exit the tent the way you came and scoot behind the crowd gathered to the left of the gate. The New Mexico Quarter is on the green crate.

South Carolina Coin location

The Forward Base Coin 3 of 3

After talking to Norah, exit the tent and walk down and to the left. Move past a guard in a knit cap and enter the building. Once inside, take an immediate left and grab the South Carolina Quarter from the far left end of the table.

WLF Interrogator Artifact location

The Forward Base Artifact 1 of 1

From the South Carolina Quarter location, head to the opposite side of the room to find the WLF Interrogator Artifact on a side table.

Hostile Territory collectibles

Hostile Territory begins when Abby and Manny start their trek into the wrecked buildings. It ends when Abby’s flashback begins. There are 12 Artifacts, 1 Coin, 1 Workbench, and 1 Safe to find in Hostile Territory.

Scar’s Suicide Note Artifact location

Hostile Territory Artifact 1 of 12

From the fence where Abby and Manny part ways, advance until you see Tang Fabrics & Imports. Turn left before the stairs that lead into the store and hop through a window to find a dead Scar who left a letter recounting his fate at the hands of Wolves and “demons.”

North Dakota Coin location

Hostile Territory Coin 1 of 1

Cut through Tang Fabrics & Imports, and then climb on top of the RV outside. Clamber through the window and walk to the end of the hallway. There’s a North Dakota Coin in a drawer on the floor.

Jasmine Bakery Safe Artifact location

Hostile Territory Artifact 3 of 12

Enter Ruby Dragon, the restaurant whose red and white marquee is obscured by ivy, and then take the stairs in the back to get to the second floor. After clearing out the clickers, walk to the balcony and hop across to the other side of the street. Enter the room on the left. There, you’ll find a letter from someone named Mei to Bo. It contains the code to a safe: 68-96-89.

Strange Relic Artifact location

Hostile Territory Artifact 3 of 12

From the location of the letter, move to the next room and look to your right where you’ll see a desk fan. Next to the fan, there’s an egg with engraving on it. Inspecting it will earn you a Trophy: “Relic of the Sages.”

Safe location

Hostile Territory Safe 1 of 1

Return to ground level and seek out Jasmine Bakery, which has a boarded up front door. Break a window to enter, and then run back behind the counter to find a safe. Enter the code 68-96-89 to find supplements, ammo and crafting materials.

Plea to Seraphite Prophet Artifact location

Hostile Territory Artifact 4 of 12

Take the stairs back up and jump the balcony again, and then turn right to take another flight of stairs. On the rooftop patio you’ll find a corpse with a prayer to the Scar prophet pinned to its chest.

Prophet Van Prayers Artifact locations

Hostile Territory Artifact 5-10 of 12

On the prophet van there are six prayers: three on the left, one inside, and two on the right. They are named as follows: Seraphite Prayer to Prophet - Peace, Seraphite Prayer to Prophet - Respect, Seraphite Prayer to Prophet - Steed, Seraphite Prayer to Prophet - Pairing, Seraphite Prayer to Prophet - Prosperity, and Prayer for Victory.

WLF Soldier Meets Prophet Artifact location

Hostile Territory Artifact 11 of 12

From the Prophet Van location, enter the store with the green awning to the right. On the counter to your left, find a letter from Sally, who guarded the prophet, to a friend named Cam.

In the Fresnel building, head left from where Abby crawls in to find a Workbench among the Scar craftsmanship.

From the workbench location, turn around to see a wooden table on your left. Here, find the Letter from Seraphite Father to Son Artifact.

The Forest collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2’s The Forest begins when the Winter Visit flashback ends. It ends when Abby drops Lev and Yara off in the cargo yard. There are 1 Artifact and 1 Workbench to find in The Forest.

Workbench location

The Forest Workbench 1 of 1

After defeating the brute with a hammer, Abby, Lev and Yara will move into a garage where a car is up on a hydraulic lift. Run to the back, left wall to find a Workbench.

Failed Truce Artifact location

The Forest Artifact 1 of 1

From the Workbench location, turn around and head to the opposite end of the garage where you’ll see some vending machines and black-and-white checkerboard flooring. Turn to your left to find a letter from Matt to Eddie about the truce falling apart on the folding table closest to the door.

The Coast collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2 The Coast begins when Abby leaves Lev and Yara in the cargo yard. It ends when Abby wakes up on the boat. There are 3 Artifacts, 4 Coins, 1 Workbench, and 1 Safe to find in The Coast.

Workbench location

The Coast Workbench 1 of 1

After leaving Lev and Yara, hop the fence to another section of the cargo yard. Enter the building on the left to find a Workbench on your immediate left.

Alabama Coin location

The Coast Coin 1 of 4

Exit the cargo yard on the far right side, passing the grassy area where the crates stop and there are a few cars and a semi truck. Take a left at the wrecked cop car and climb to the next level. The Alabama Quarter will be in front of you by the guard rail.

Infirmary Note artifact location

The Coast Artifact 1 of 3

After swimming a brief stretch of ocean, enter the wrecked ship, and then take a right turn and enter the first room on your right. Here you’ll find a letter from Quinn, a mother likely infected with the cordyceps virus, to her partner, Will, next to a corpse on a stretcher.

Mutiny Note Artifact location

The Coast Artifact 2 of 3

Advance to the second floor, past a sign reading “Passenger Assembly Area.” You’ll open up onto a long hallway, where you’ll find the crossbow and a few infected. Take the infected out, and then advance to the end of the hallway where you’ll find a letter underneath a Washington Transit Authority (WTA) logo on the wall. The note includes a code for a safe on board: 90-77-01.

West Virginia Coin location

The Coast Coin 2 of 4

Double back from the location where you found the safe combination and return to the start of the hallway. Here, you’ll see stairs to the next level. Climb to the second floor, and then turn right, and take the hallway to the next corridor. On your right, you’ll see a Care Bear. Near it, you’ll find the West Virginia Quarter.

Safe location

The Coast Safe 1 of 1

When you reach the top deck of the ship, turn to your left immediately to find the cabin housing the safe. Unlock it with the code you found below 90-77-01.

Ferry Log Artifact location

The Coast Artifact 3 of 3

From the Safe 3 location, sneak to the other side of the ship, watching out for clickers, runners and one shambler. Enter the cabin and you’ll see the captain’s log on the ground next to the captain’s corpse.

Utah Coin location

The Coast Coin 3 of 4

Climb the ladder to the area above the cabin, and then turn around and walk to the hidden side of the Crow’s nest where you’ll find the Utah Quarter.

Mississippi Coin location

The Coast Coin 4 of 4

As you approach the aquarium, you’ll see a large fountain with a dolphin statue in the center. Climb into the statue to find the Mississippi Quarter at roughly 6 o’clock (with the aquarium being 12).
