The Last of Us Part 2 guide: Santa Barbara collectibles

In Polygon’s The Last of Us Part 2 Santa Barbara collectibles guide, we’ll show you the locations of 6 Artifacts, 2 Trading Cards, 2 Workbenches, and 2 Journal Entries in this chapter.

Santa Barbara has four sections (or subchapters): 2425 Constance, Pushing Inland, The Resort, and The Beach, but you won’t see those names during the campaign. You can find and begin playing from these sections in the Chapters section of the main menu. Each subchapter gets a section in our guide, and we’ll explain where and when they begin and end below.

2425 Constance collectibles

In The Last of Us Part 2, 2425 Constance begins with Abby and Lev searching an abandoned suburban neighborhood. It ends with Abby and Lev meeting the Rattlers. There is 1 Artifact to find (and nothing else).

Suicide Note Artifact location

Walk to the house behind and to the left of the RV with the Rattler graffiti on it. Jump through the window and head toward the back of the house. In the center of the house, you’ll find the bathroom door open and a corpse in the bathtub. On the toilet seat, find a suicide note artifact. (You can’t check your collectibles during this section, so this artifact does not have an official name).

Pushing Inland collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2 “Pushing Inland” begins with Ellie on Abby’s boat. It ends when Ellie encounters the Rattlers. There are 3 Artifacts, 1 Trading Card, 1 Journal Entry, and 1 Workbench to find.

Abby’s Note Artifact location

Turn around once this section begins, and you’ll see the Abby’s Note Artifact immediately to your left next to the stove.

Mansion Note Artifact location

In the first space where you encounter infected, make a beeline for the red-shingled house with a U-Move trailer out front and a four-wheeler in the garage. In the back left corner, find the Mansion Note Artifact.

CBB-73 Trading Card location

Go to the mansion with the clicker on the roof, and climb the truck to reach the second floor. Climb through the window and then take an immediate right to find a child’s room. To the left of the model sailboat, find a CBB-73 Trading Card on the desk.

Runaway Warning Artifact location

Drop down to the main floor where two shamblers are waiting. Dispatch them, and the smaller infected then head to the kitchen. On the island in the center of the room, find the Runaway Warning Artifact.

To the left of the Runaway Warning Artifact location (see the previous section), you’ll find a Workbench.

Journal Entry location

Exit the house through the main floor windows and head down to a guard rail overlooking trees and mountains. There, Ellie will write down a Journal Entry.

The Resort collectibles

The Last of Us Part 2 “The Resort” begins with Ellie clutching her side and muttering, “Tracks to resort. Tall, round building.” It ends when Ellie walks out of the resort and onto the path to the beach. There are 2 Artifacts, 1 Trading Card, 1 Journal Entry, and 1 Workbench to find in “The Resort.”

Rattler Journal Entry location

The Resort Journal Entry 1 of 1

After the first fight with Rattlers, look for a teal van with tires half buried in the sand. It will be over near the building that looks like a gas station at a diagonal from both areas. There’s a Rattler tag on the side. Inspect it and Ellie will write the Rattler Journal Entry.

Santa Barbara Slave Note Artifact location

The Resort Artifact 1 of 2

After Ellie says “that looks like a tall, round building” and slips off the train, head to the left past some white and black graffiti that reads “PTS.” Look for a few pallets with barrels stacked on top and you’ll find the Santa Barbara Slave Note Artifact to their left.

Workbench location

There’s a workbench in the building behind the two Rattlers mocking the infected guy.

Sparkthug Trading Card location

The Resort Trading Card 1 of 1

After fighting the group of Rattlers taunting the Infected on a chain, enter the adjacent building. As you enter, you’ll find the Sparkthug Trading Card on a wooden table on your right.

Rattler’s Letter Home Artifact location

The Resort Artifact 2 of 2

Once you reach the tall, round building, take the marble, spiral staircase up to the second floor. To the right of where the staircase let’s out, look for a mess of white sheets. On the end table next to it, find the Rattler’s Letter Home Artifact.
