Downtown in The Last of Us Part 2 begins during Seattle Day 1 when you can’t open Gate East 2 until you find some gas. In our Downtown guide, we’ll show you the location of every collectible along the way — 18 Artifacts, 5 Trading Cards, 2 Journal Entries, and 3 Safes.

DOWNTOWN MAP

Finding The Last of Us 2’s map of Seattle is helpful for navigating Downtown’s semi-open-world environment, but If you don’t have it, we’ve got plenty of screenshots below.

You enter Downtown from the Fuck FEDRA Gate heading west, and you’ve got all of Downtown to explore. We’ve broken it down below just like it is in the map above, taking a path that’s that starts at the bank in the south and ends at the dome. Here’s the order, as a table of contents:

1. Bank
2. Collapsed building
3. Overpass
4. Courthouse
5. Coffee shop
6. Pet store
7. Record store
8. Gate West 2
9. Dome

The order is optional. It’s a suggestion, based on starting at the southern end of the map and heading north up 6th Ave. so that you do things in more or less the most efficient path. But hey, it’s an open world environment, so feel free to explore!

FEDRA CENSUS DOCUMENT ARTIFACT LOCATION

Before entering the large Downtown, you’ll be at Gate East 2. Walk into the booth below the “Downtown Checkpoint” sign, and open the drawer to find the FEDRA Census Document Artifact.

CACHE HUNTER NOTE ARTIFACT LOCATION

As soon as you enter the area, you’ll see a mostly knocked-down building across a small creek. Ride there, and check the satchel on the ground to find the Cache Hunter Note Artifact.

BANK HEIST PLANS ARTIFACT LOCATION

Ride to the ruins of the City Hall (on Cherry St. and 6th Ave.) and follow the path down into the building.

You’ll end up in a combat encounter with some infected in what used to be a bank. On the left side of the room, through the door labeled “SAFE DEPOSIT LOCKERS” you’ll find the Bank Heist Plans Artifact sitting on the floor.

It’s hard to miss the safe. It’s huge and in the room labeled “SAFE DEPOSIT LOCKERS,” where you can also find the Bank Heist Plans Artifact. The safe code is written on the Bank Heist Plans Artifact: 60-23-06.

BANK ROBBER LETTER ARTIFACT LOCATION

Once you’re into the safe, grab the pump action shotgun and scoop up the Bank Robber Letter Artifact. It’s by the blue toolbox next to the dead robber.

Walk up these overgrown stairs, and turn around at the top. Check the satchel on the ground by the green box, and you’ll find the WLF Community Supply Chest Note Artifact. (Check the green box, too.)

In front of the Dome, you’ll find another collapsed building. Climb the stairs, and then smash through the window to circle around on the awning. When you get to the top, check the green crates for some supplies and the Dr. Uckmann Trading Card.

At the ration distribution center, walk through the open gate and climb the ladder immediately to your right. Check the drawer in the first guard booth for the Emergency Protocols Memo Artifact.

The synagogue (aka the dome) is one of the places you’ll need to check for gasoline. After you’ve checked the tank and swung over to the balcony, head through this door. Check the drawer for the Rabbi Saunders’ Letter Artifact.

On the corner of 5th Ave. and Spring St., smash the coffee shop window and check the counter to pick up the next note — the WLF Safe House Supply Note Artifact.

In the coffee shop, go behind the counter and check the drawer under the hot chocolate sign to collect the Big Blue Trading Card.

Continue through the back room of the coffee shop and head into the bathroom. On the baby changing station, you’ll find the key to Barko’s pet shop, which is the Pet Store Key Artifact.

Pick up the Barko’s tag, and Ellie will add a question mark to your map at the pet store’s location — the intersection of Marion St. and 6th Ave.

Once you’ve got the key to Barko’s, head back to 6th Ave. between Marion and Madison. Follow the “deliveries” sign down the alley to find the entrance. Use the key to get in and walk down the hall. Once you’re into the main room, look to your left on the big printer to collect the next note — the Join WLF Note Artifact.

Down in a valley, there’s a FEDRA rations truck, sunken and surrounded by waterfalls. Open up the back of the truck, and climb in to find some Parts and the Note To Informant Artifact.

PLEA TO A FRIEND LETTER ARTIFACT LOCATION

One of the location’s you’ll have to search for gas is the courthouse. After your first encounter with the infected there, you’ll push aside a book case and head down stairs. Keep running down the dark hallway past the elevator banks and metal detectors to find the note — the Plea To A Friend Letter — on one of two skeletons.

LT. TORRES FINAL MEMORANDUM ARTIFACT LOCATION

From where you were looking at the skeletons, turn 90 degrees to your left. To the right of the elevator banks, you’ll see a window you can smash and jump through. Do that.

To your right, you’ll see a skeleton (below the safe code). Pull the machete out of his body, and a note will fall out — the Lt. Torres Final Memorandum Artifact.

Still in the same room, directly beneath the window you broke to get into this office is a safe. The combination is on the whiteboard, just above the skeleton. The courthouse code is 86-07-22.

At the far west end of Madison Street, squeeze through the gate and turn to your right to circle around to the Safe. The combination is the same as the code to Gate West 2 (0451). Open it up to collect the Flo Trading Card.

KNOW IT ALL TRADING CARD LOCATION

Once you’ve done all that other stuff, feel free to head back to the “FUCK FEDRA” gate where this whole open-world detour began. You’ll power up the generator and head to the Serevena Hotel.

Once inside, head up the first flight of stairs, and walk straight into the hotel room with pink walls. From there, enter the connected room with blue walls. In the bedside table between the two beds, you’ll find the Know It All Trading Card.
