Enable Sims 4 cheats
To get the cheats bar to appear, press Ctrl+Shift+C on PC and Command+Shift+C on Mac. After you do this, you can type in whichever cheat code you need and hit enter to submit it. Once you’re done, you can close out this text bar by pressing Esc.
On consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you can hold the four shoulder buttons simultaneously to open the cheat console. Pressing the shoulder buttons again will close the text box out as well.
Below we’ve listed some of the most useful cheats you’ll need to design homes, upgrade stats, debug your game, and more.
Turning on “testing cheats”
Typing in “testingcheats true” turns on a mode that allows you to do essentially anything with your Sim and objects on the active lot.
When this is enabled, you can select the mailbox to toggle “needs decay,” which determines whether or not your Sim needs to go to the bathroom, sleep, and do other similar tasks. Lots of more in-depth cheats, like the ability to edit your Sims’ skill levels, will require this cheat to be on.
You can use the the following when testing cheats are enabled.
Sims 4 testing cheats
|Turns off death. Toggle back on by switching “true” to “false.”
|resetSim (first name) (last name)
|Resets the sim, canceling all queued actions for that sim.
|Allows the household bills to be paid automatically. Switch off by turning “true” to “false.”
|Removes all the moodlets and buffs from the active sim.
|Takes your currently selected sim into the full version of Create-a-Sim, allowing you to change their walk style, name, traits, and other normally uneditable things.
There aren’t any specific cheat codes to alter needs, but if you enable testing cheats and Shift-Click the mailbox on your household’s lot, you’ll see new options. On PS4, you’ll need to press X and O simultaneously. On Xbox One, you’ll need to press A and B simultaneously to use this on the mailbox.
Through Shift-Clicking, you can disable or enable needs decay. Disabling them will keep their needs bars up to max permanently, until you enable it again. You can also select “Make Happy,” which will max out their needs, though it won’t keep it up permanently.
These cheats allow you to add money to your household or help you save money.
