Popular anime series Attack on Titan will finally return for its second season after being off the air for three years, the studio announced this weekend.
During Anime Con in Los Angeles, Wit Studio — which also worked on the first season — confirmed that the second season would return next spring. Tetsuro Araki, the man who helmed the entire first season, will also return for the second.
The studio tweeted out the news and updated its site to include a new teaser image for the new season, which can be seen above. The first season ended in September of 2013, leading to continuous questions from fans over the last few years about when the show would be returning. The studio said they always had plans to bring the show back for a second season, but it was a matter of figuring out time and scheduling.
More information, including which cast members will be returning, can be found on the show's website.
