Last season, The Walking Dead ended on one of its biggest cliffhangers yet, with the lives of most characters up in the air as the villainous Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) made his entrance.
In the first footage AMC has released from the seventh season, that question is still up in the air. Instead of giving fans a look at who might have survived and who perished, the 50-second clip follows the newest series regular, Dwight (Austin Amelio), as he cruises around. The scene will also reassure fans that despite Negan taking on the role of the main baddie this season, there will still be plenty of zombies to keep the cast occupied.
AMC debuted the clip during its special hourlong preview of the seventh season, which included interviews with the main cast, last night. During the event, the cast talked about what it was like working with Morgan, the future of their characters (as much as they could say) and their experiences over the years from working on the show.
The seventh season of The Walking Dead premieres Oct. 23 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
