Amazon Studios has released new photos from the upcoming pilot of The Tick, its reboot of the cult classic superhero series. View the stills in the gallery below.

The photos give a closer look at the titular blue hero, played by Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars: Episode I), as well as the reboot’s previously unseen interpretation of decrepit supervillain The Terror, portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, Preacher).

There are also shots of Griffin Newman (Vinyl) as the underdog accountant Arthur Everest and Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) as the villainous Ms. Lint. There's even a photo of Superian, played by Brendan Hines, being interviewed by Whoopi Goldberg, who plays a version of herself. Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars, The Following) will also appear in the show as Arthur's sister, Dot.

The original creator of The Tick, Ben Edlund, will serve as writer and executive producer. Edlund also created and produced the previous two Tick television series— the first animated and the second live-action.

The half-hour pilot for The Tick will premiere on Amazon Prime on Aug. 19. Viewers can rate the pilot, which will launch alongside two others. Episodes that are well received will be made into full series.
