Powers was Sony’s first and, so far, only attempt at a scripted television series exclusive to PlayStation Plus subscribers (and, for a short time, on Crackle).
The police procedural, based on Bendis’ own comic series of the same name, starred Sharlto Copley (District 9, Chappie) as a former superhero who, after having his powers taken away, finds a new life as a homicide detective dealing with superhuman criminals.
The series premiered on PlayStation Network in 2015 and ran for two seasons of 10 episodes each. The first episodes of both seasons are available to view on YouTube for free. Despite the show’s cancellation, Bendis stated the comic series will continue under Marvel’s creator-owned Icon label.
