Westworld will return for its second season some time in Spring 2018, according to a tweet from actress Evan Rachel Wood.
Wood, who plays Dolores in the series, responded to a fan question about when the show would return for its sophomore season. Although Wood didn’t give an exact date, Spring 2018 is slightly earlier than we expected. The first season of Westworld debuted last October, leading us to believe the second season would follow in its footsteps and round off the year.

Westworld showrunners, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, have said in the past they were taking more time than usual to ensure the second season delivered upon the promise of the first. Additional time was allotted to the team by HBO for writing and production.
Westworld is poised to take over Game of Thrones as HBO’s biggest series once Game of Thrones comes to an end. Game of Thrones’ eighth and final season is expected to debut in 2019, putting Westworld’s second season under the spotlight for HBO.
