New photos from Netflix’s Sense8, a sci-fi series about a group of individuals who become interconnected after experiencing a shared mental link, have given a little more insight into what fans can expect.
The second season will pick right up after where the first one ended, according to the streaming service. Netflix added there will be an emphasis on the team discovering more about each other and working together to protect one another from impending dangers teased in the first season.
Capheus, Kala, Lito, Nomi, Riley, Sun, Will and Wolfgang come together both physically and mentally, plunged into the middle of each other’s tragedies and triumphs. On the run from Whispers, and forced to question their very identity, it's a matter of survival as the Sensates must find a way to live with, understand and protect one another against all odds.
The show’s first season was well received and was applauded for its inclusion of diverse actors from a variety of backgrounds. It was one of the first original sci-fi series Netflix took on in 2015 and was followed up with a Christmas special last year. Lana Wachowski, best known for her work on The Matrix, will return as an executive producer and writer for the series.
Sense8’s second season will be available to stream in full on May 5.
