April Fool’s is just a day away, and while that means most people will have to keep a keen eye on what’s real and what’s fake, Netflix is planning to celebrate its own way.
Netflix Live, which supposedly premieres on April 1 in full, is a live show that stars Will Arnett (BoJack Horseman, Arrested Development) commenting on whatever’s in front of him. The company released a 50-minute preview of the show today. At one point, a copy machine appears on screen and Arnett gives his opinions on copy editors as a whole. The entire thing is done with a satirical voice and, despite the dullness that accompanies each each segment, it manages to come off hilarious with every new product change.
Netflix didn’t announce the show was going live, nor did it appear on any of the show’s social media accounts. It’s unclear why Netflix decided to launch the live show, but the most logical answer is this being the company’s contribution to to April Fool’s Day. Considering the entire episode is supposed to premiere tomorrow, however, it’s looking more likely. There are some reports that the show will actually be taken off the service as of April 1, playing into Netflix’s joke, but that has yet to be confirmed. Polygon has reached out to Netflix for confirmation.
The preview of Netflix Live is currently available to watch on Netflix.
