Marvel’s Inhumans has its first trailer

Yes, that’s Ramsay Bolton

At long last, Marvel’s Inhumans debuted its first trailer today.

Footage from Inhumans, albeit with incomplete special effects and editing, leaked online last month to a lukewarm response, likely aided by the fact that it shares a showrunner with Netflix’s much maligned Iron Fist. We’ll see what sort of response the completed footage gets today.

The Inhumans are a Marvel comics superhero team, sort of. Inhumans stories concern the adventures and rivalries of the royal family of the titular secret race of metahumans. The show’s lead, played by Anson Mount, is Black Bolt, the king of the Inhumans and is famously mute, as his voice causes destruction with a whisper. His queen is Medusa, who has complete telekinetic control over her yards and yards of hair. Other Inhuman characters in the show include Crystal, who can control the four elements; Crystal’s giant teleporting dog, Lockjaw; and Maximus, played by Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones, Misfits), Black Bolt’s brother who covets his throne.

Inhumans will debut on Sept. 1 in IMAX theaters and will run for two weeks. The entire season, including those first two episodes, will begin airing Sept. 29 on ABC.
