The Walking Dead just ended its seventh season, but that doesn’t mean the cast hasn’t been hard at work on the eighth.
During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel today, the cast, alongside comic creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott M. Gimple, released the first teaser for the show’s eighth season. Last season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, leaving us with more questions about everyone’s favorite character to hate: Negan.
The Walking Dead’s season eight trailer kicks off with mega bad guy Negan asking Gabriel a ... loaded question. From there, the Comic-Con trailer really goes places, from moody to inspirational to action-packed. There’s a lot to digest in the five-minute preview of season eight of The Walking Dead.
We already knew that Negan will be returning for an eighth season, with actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan teasing more of the character’s presence in the show, though he doesn’t take up much time in today’s trailer.
The Walking Dead is also about to become one of the longest-running dramas on television, and it shows no signs of slowing down. AMC executives want to keep the series running for as long as possible. Considering it’s one of the most-watched shows on television, it’s probably not going anywhere anytime soon.
