BoJack Horseman is nowhere to be seen in the trailer for the show’s new season

‘Where are you, BoJack?’

BoJack Horseman is missing.

In the first trailer for the series’ fourth season, the show’s protagonist — and oftentimes antagonist — has been gone for three months. We’re not sure what happened to him after he started driving away from Los Angeles at the end of the third season. Is BoJack okay? Is he dead?

We have no idea. What we do know is that Mr. Peanutbutter is running for governor of California, Diane is writing for a blog (that she probably hates), Princess Carolyn wants to start a family and Todd is still the optimistic, charming, couch-hopping slacker he’s always been. There is also a mysterious new addition to the cast this season: a teenage girl who shows up on BoJack’s door.

With BoJack Horseman set to return to Netflix for its new season in less than a month, it’s unlikely that we’ll get another new trailer before that. Instead, we’ll have to wait until the fourth season is released to find out what happened to the depressive, misanthropic, alcoholic horse that wedged his way into our hearts four years ago.

BoJack Horseman’s fourth season will be available to stream on Sept. 8.
