The original animated Teen Titans could be returning soon.

A leak from the Teen Titans Go! to the Movies Blu-ray and DVD release shows a teaser trailer that hints at the return of the original animated Teen Titans. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s gonna be the show’s much-longed-for sixth season, but instead some sort of crossover with the more lighthearted Teen Titans Go! show.

The teaser combines the opening sequences of both shows and then ends with the title card for something called Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans.

io9 confirmed the validity of this leak with Warner Bros. and that it will launch in 2019, but no further information about the project has been revealed. It could be a special episode, a full-length animated movie, or something else entirely.

The prospect of the original show returning was teased in a clip during the end credits of Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, where the Teen Titans characters announced that they’d “found a way back.” Speculation for a possible sixth season started running high, bolstered by the fact that other beloved Cartoon Network shows such as Samurai Jack, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Young Justice have all been granted additional seasons after their premature cancellation.

There’s no news of a sixth season just yet, but the prospect of the beloved heroes returning in their original animated forms is definitely exciting. We’ll be on the lookout for any more information about this mysterious project.
