Chilling Adventures of Sabrina gets a chilling holiday special

As with every holiday season, Netflix’s original programming is getting some wintery themed episodes, alongside a full slate of festive films.

Most notably, this October’s spooky standout Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is getting the full holiday treatment with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale. The second season still doesn’t have a release date, but we’ll be tided over with another glimpse of the spirited teenage witch before the next season arrives.

Netflix’s holiday reel trailer shows some quick scenes of this chilling (ha) winter episode. Sabrina has her new platinum blonde look, indicating that it does take place after the events of the first season. There’s a Christmas tree and warm beverages around as Zelda, Hilda and Sabrina relax. How do witches even celebrate Christmas? What does the Dark Lord have to say about holly and mistletoe? Perhaps it’s just a celebration of the Winter Solstice instead of Christmas.

Other Netflix originals coming this season include a sequel to last year’s favorite A Christmas Prince, holiday episodes of Nailed It! and the Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell as Santa. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale premieres on Dec. 14.
