Castlevania’s first season on Netflix last year was a success for the animated series, so a second one (announced earlier this month) is a natural development. The streaming service put out this official trailer today announcing the series’ return on Oct. 26.
Executive producer Adi Shankar revealed the trailer via Twitter earlier this afternoon. “We’re here to create the greatest video game adaptation of all time,” he added on Facebook.

Castlevania had a very appealing first run, the only problem was it was a little ... short? At four episodes, fans wanted a lot more. (And maybe some better, or at least more familiar, music, too.)
Season two is double-sized, eight episodes in all. A synopsis for season two, written by Warren Ellis and directed by Sam Deats, reads:
Returning to Netflix for a second season, Castlevania, inspired by the classic videogame series, is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council.
