Disney’s new streaming service looms just around the corner. Boasting many new Marvel and Star Wars-themed properties already, Disney Plus will be loaded with content from launch. Joining The Mandalorian and the Bucky-Falcon/Loki miniseries will be a Monsters Inc. animated series.
Entitled Monsters at Work, the new series will pick up six months after the original movie’s ending. So unlike the 2013 prequel, Monsters University, it will focus on how the world of monsters is adapting to using laughter as a power source instead of screams.
Both John Goodman and Billy Crystal return to the cast as furry blue monster James P. Sullivan (Sully) and one-eyed green orb Mike Wazowski, respectively. They’re joined by a new character, an aspiring jokester named Tylor Tuskmon who will be voiced by Ben Feldman (Superstore). Other characters returning include Mike’s girlfriend Celia (Jennifer Tilly), the lonely Yeti (John Ratzenberger), and Roz (Bob Peterson) — and introducing Roz’s twin sister, Roze.
Monsters at Work will debut on Disney Plus sometime in 2020. Meanwhile, Disney Plus is set to launch sometime in 2019 and will boast the entire Disney library.
