Marvel Studios’ announced five new Disney Plus TV series, from Earth to space and back again, during Disney’s 2020 Investors Day call. Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Armor Wars, and the Guardians of the Galaxy are all coming to the small screen on Disney Plus.
A rumored Disney Plus series starring Samuel L. Jackson is now confirmed to be a show based on Marvel Comics’ Secret Invasion event, starring Nick fury and the Skrull agent Talos as they deal with a, well, secret Skrull invasion on earth.

Marvel is developing a series for the teenage hero Ironheart, with Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a young Black girl from inner city Chicago who reverse engineers Tony Stark’s armor to become the protector of her neighborhood. For the darker side of what happens when Iron Man tech falls into the wrong hands, Don Cheadle will return as War Machine in a series based on Marvel Comics’ Armor Wars.

Disney Plus will also host Marvel’s “first live-action Christmas special,” The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, written and directed by James Gunn, which will be shot during the production of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and will hit Disney Plus during the 2022 holiday season. Finally, I Am Groot will be a series of shorts featuring new characters from around the Marvel Universe.

These shows joins a packed slate of films and TV series waiting in the Marvel Studios wings. The rollout begins on January 15, 2021 with WandaVision, the Disney Plus exclusive series about the Vision and the Scarlet Witch and their darkly surreal home life. Marvel will return to major movie releases on with Black Widow on May 7, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on July 9, and The Eternals on Nov. 5. Sony’s untitled Spider-Man sequel will continue its corner of the MCU on Dec. 17.
Marvel’s Disney Plus series’ Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and Hawkeye will also bow in on the Disney Plus service, with Thor: Love and Thunder, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and sequels for Black Panther and Captain Marvel set for 2022. Marvel is also still in preproduction on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a Blade movie, and Disney Plus shows for Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight.
