HBO and BBC’s His Dark Materials series will get a third season — this one following the events of the third book in Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy, The Amber Spyglass.

For those unfamiliar with the universe-hopping fantasy saga, this is the one where the two kids team up to try and kill God.

The HBO-BBC joint project stars Logan’s Dafne Keen as protagonist Lyra, who comes from a world where human souls are personified as animal companions known as daemons. Amir Wilson joins as Will, a boy from a world closer to our own. The first season, based on the first book in the trilogy, The Golden Compass, premiered last November. The second one, following the events of The Subtle Knife, premiered this November and will conclude on Dec. 28. Other stars include James McAvoy, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Ruth Wilson.

Production on the next season is set to begin in Cardiff in 2021.

The first and second season (which is still in progress) are available to stream on HBO Max.
