Love in the Time of Corona...get it? Like the Gabriel García Márquez novel? Haha

The minute it was clear that the novel coronavirus wasn’t going to go away any time soon, a million tweets and headlines and email subject lines decided to coin “Love in the Time of Corona” (or some variation of it), a spin on Gabriel García Márquez’s novel Love in the Time of Cholera.

And it was only a matter of time before Love in the Time of Corona became some sort of romantic piece of media, and lo and behold — it happened! Freeform debuted the first 30-second teaser of Love in the Time of Corona, a four-part anthology. It will join other romance-themed anthologies centered around events like Love, Actually, Valentine’s Day, and New Year’s Eve, but probably be a bit more tragic, since, you know, uncertain times and all that.

Don’t worry, all of the stars in it do happen to be quarantined together (hello, celebrity couples and families!) and the series was filmed using remote technologies.

Love in the Time of Corona stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Nicolette Robinson (a real-life couple) as a couple who’ve been dealing with some issues, but apparently have decided to use this downtime to get it on; Tommy Dorfman and Rainey Qualley (not a real-life couple, but apparently living together) as platonic roommates trying to find love while isolated from the rest of the world; Gil Bellows, Rya Kihlstedt, and their daughter Ava Bellows (a real-life family!) as a family whose daughter is home for college, despite the parents being secretly separated; and L. Scott Caldwell as a woman whose husband is unable to return home from his rehab facility.

Love in the Time of Corona will be a special two-night limited event, premiering on Freeform on Aug. 22 at 8 pm ET and Aug. 23 at 8 pm ET. Episodes will be available on Hulu the following day.
