Tuca & Bertie is back in its full, horny glory in the latest look at the show’s second season.
In addition to getting a new look at the show, we also got a release window: Season 2 will be coming out in summer 2021. The adult animated series, brought to us by BoJack Horseman co-producer Lisa Hanawalt, follows two best friends, Tuca and Bertie (voiced by Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong, respectively), as they muddle their way through the joy and trauma of adult life.
We almost didn’t get a second season, because Netflix dropped the show in July 2019. However, Adult Swim decided to give it another shot and renewed it for a 10-episode run. If you’re worried about any changes, don’t fret. The recently released footage brings back the same old, raunchy, trippy mess that we knew and loved from season 1.
The footage shows two brief scenes: one for Tuca and one for Bertie. Bertie’s scene shows her discussing anxieties over losing her boyfriend Speckle, played by recently Oscar-nominated actor Steven Yeun, and her best friend Tuca. After that, the sneak peek closes out with Tuca, who we see corralling a bunch of unsuspecting bystanders onto a giant “sex bus.”
