I, for one, am appalled.

That’s such a great example, because that’s another game that’s great at evoking the FEELING of a place while not at all being accurate. I talked to two teachers of an architecture course awhile back who use games in their classroom. They talked a bit about the experience a student had of going to LA and "recognizing" it because of GTA. Not recognizing any particular street corner or what have you, just the general feeling of being there. It speaks to how powerful a game can be even without recreating something 1 to 1.

I’m right there with you, I think Unity and Syndicate (my beloved!!!) are both solid games. Unity’s story might be a bit of a mess but Syndicate is really tight!! And Unity has all the weapon variety of the later games, too, which I’m pretty sure was unique among the first gen of AC games?

I felt the exact same as you about the French voice acting though… everyone has a silly Italian accent in AC2, so why not French!?!?! It’s not fair! I put my VO in French with English subtitles though and that was great.
