Oh, definitely—and it’s why Jurassic Park holds up a hell of a lot better than Jurassic World ever will—but I was referring to the CGI, specifically.

""I think CG has been proving recently with Planet of the Apes and [2019’s] The Lion King and Marvel movies that we can do hyper-realism really, really, really well," explains Perifel."
I don’t know, anybody else feel like CGI special effects have gotten worse lately? I watched a trailer for the latest Jurassic Park/World movie, and effects-wise it looked better than the original’s CGI, but not really 30 years better. Maybe we’ve hit a plateau, or maybe the really good CGI out there has thrown off my expectations, or maybe there really has been some sort of COVID-driven dip in quality, but recent movie effects have looked decidedly lackluster to me.

Eh, we’ve been sharing my parents’ account, but I doubt we’d bother paying for our own if it came to it. Netflix’s library is a shadow of its former self and we watch their original programming (which can, ahem, be procured by other means fairly easily) maybe two or three times a year.
