There are plenty of challenges to overcome in Valheim. Those struggles become all the more difficult knowing that the weapons, armor, and tools you rely on can degrade and become unusable. To keep your gear in working order, you have to learn to repair.
In this Valheim guide, we’ll show you what’s required to begin repairs. Then we’ll show you how to repair your weapons, armor, and tools.
How to repair in Valheim
Unlike many other things in the game, the process of repairing items in Valheim is easy. As long as you have a covered workbench, which you already have if you’ve crafted anything, then you can get started.
Each of your weapons, armor, and tools have a durability meter below them. As you use these items, the white bar whittles down. When it’s depleted, your item becomes unusable and must be repaired.

Here’s how to repair items in Valheim:
- Make sure the repairable items are in your inventory first.
- Interact with your workbench.
- On the right of your screen, you’ll see your regular crafting menu. Beside it is a small hammer icon. Clicking on it will repair items in your inventory in order.
- Keep clicking on it until all your gear is repaired.
There are no costs to repair, so you don’t have to use console commands and spawn infinite resources.
