Rebellion Developments’ third-person shooter Rogue Trooper Redux, a remaster of the 2006 game based on the 2000 A.D. comic book, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One later this year. For a taste of what’s to come, check out 15 minutes of gameplay from the PS4 version, captured at E3 2017.
Rogue Trooper Redux brings remastered graphics and effects to the 2006 original. Rebellion and developer TickTock Games promise remodeled assets, enhanced lighting and more, though don’t expect a toe-to-tip remake of Rogue Trooper; the video above makes it reasonably clear this is based on a PlayStation 2 and Xbox game.
The original Rogue Trooper video game tells the story of its eponymous soldier, the last Genetic Infantryman, and his three comrades as they search for — and seek revenge upon — the Traitor General on the chemically ravaged planet of Nu-Earth.
The Rogue Trooper comic book series, created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons, started in 1981.
