Jeffrey Parkin (he/him) has been writing video game guides for Polygon for almost seven years. He has learned to love just about every genre of game that exists.

You’ll have plenty to do while you’re wandering The Witcher 3’s White Orchard region. While exploring, you may also stumble across the “Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear” Treasure Hunt quest.

There are two diagrams to find as part of this quest. Finding the first (in either order) will trigger the quest to find the second.

In this guide, we’ve got maps and images to help find both diagrams.

Diagram: Serpentine Steel Sword

You’ll find the Diagram: Serpentine steel sword in a Bandit Camp just to the west of the Ransacked Village.

Head to the southwest corner of the camp, and look for a fallen brick wall. Run up the wall, and climb the rest of the way into the camp.

Handle the Deserters inside, and loot everything.

This diagram is in a chest in the highest room along the east wall.

Diagram: Serpentine Silver Sword

The Diagram: Serpentine silver sword is in the graveyard just north of the Mill. There’s a Place of Power here protected by a level 7 Wraith. The Wraith is vulnerable to Specter Oil and the Yrden Sign. You can always visit the Place of Power east of the Abandoned Village to boost your Yrden Sign’s power.

Once you’ve handled the Wraith and visited the Place of Power, smash through the crypt’s wooden door.

Loot everything in the crypt. You’ll find the diagram on one of the bodies.

Viper School Gear

The Serpentine silver sword and Serpentine steel sword both deal respectable damage for early in the game. The silver sword boosts the intensity of Aard Sign by 10%, and both of them have a chance to poison your targets.

The next level of puzzles.
